Aims and Objectives
Advanced English courses, specifically designed to fulfil the academic needs of our students studying in the programs and the departments in which the medium of instruction is English, aim at helping them acquire language skills necessary for their academic and professional life. The purpose of Advanced English courses is to provide intensive work in analytical reading and writing with additional work on grammar and vocabulary, with particular focus on the most useful and frequently-used academic and technical words which they will come across in their academic textbooks, scientific articles and lectures. These courses are intended to develop students’ ability to think critically, to organize and synthesize information, and to write analytical essays. In addition to this, they concentrate on developing the skills of paraphrasing, summarizing and quoting which students will use in research and writing processes thus to acquire the appropriate skills necessary for their academic and professional life such as academic writing and oral presentations.
